Cribbage Class

Learn to play cribbage

Our inaugural class was a great success with more than a dozen players learning the basics or refreshing their memory of cribbage!

Stay tuned for future cribbage classes as we're planning to hold them quarterly (summer, fall, winter and spring).  Email dave@eugenecribbage.com if you'd like to be involved.

Do you like playing card games and/or learning new ones? Have you tried to play cribbage but weren't sure how? Do you just want to learn how to play cribbage so you can be cool? Do you want to visit a ridiculously awesome historic victorian home/museum in the heart of Eugene while learning something fun? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, then you've come to the right place!

We will be hosting our inaugural cribbage for beginners class at the wonderful Shelton McMurphey Johnson House and you and your family and friends are invited to join us to learn the basics (and beyond!) of cribbage. These sessions will be held from 4PM-5:30PM on March 6, 13, 20th, 2024. Being able to attend all 3 sessions is not required so feel free to make it to the one(s) you can and we'll do our best to accomodate learners of different skill levels at each session. That being said, you will get the most return for your time if you make it to all 3 sessions as then we can teach you more strategies beyond just the basics.

The classes will be geared towards young players (middle & high schoolers) but learners of all ages are welcome to join. Ideally, we'd love to see multigenerational family members learn cribbage together so they can go home and continue playing and teaching others to play for the rest of their lives; cribbage is really a fantastic way to connect with family and friends and this is what we're hoping to achieve.

You don't have to have experience playing any card games at all, you don't even have to know how to shuffle. We will have all the cards and boards we'll need - you just need to bring yourself, a good attitude, and a water bottle (optional) and we'll see you there!

There is free parking in the lots directly behind the house. Please see this map for details. The first floor of the SMJ House is ADA accessible.

The classes are free but donations are always appreciated.
